Meet our Speakers: Dan Beirne

Pastor Dan Beirne (he/him/his) is the Director for Mobilization and Faith Relations at Global Refuge, and serves as a part time Mission Developer with the Delaware Maryland Synod. Dan and his spouse, Asha, live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They have two young boys – a 3 year old, and a 5 year old, and a Golden Retriever named River. 

Dan studied Theology at Valparaiso University, and served for two years in El Salvador through ELCA Global Mission as his first job out of college. His time in El Salvador deeply shaped his sense of call, and the intersection of his work today as a called and ordained Pastor with the ELCA and as a Director at Global Refuge. Since El Salvador, Dan has worked as a youth minister, a Mission Developer for the Metropolitan Chicago Synod of the ELCA, and as the Program Director for Young Adults in Global Mission. Outside of work Dan is a folk musician, a woodworker, and runs a small sourdough bakery out of his home with his spouse.
